St. Mark’s International School is the first Australian international school in Bangkok, Thailand.  Established since 1999, St. Mark’s is a leading international school in Thailand with the mission of laying a firm foundation for the children’s development, to grow and walk in the right path of life.  At St. Mark’s, we aim to challenge and inspire each student and help develop the skills and confidence to enable our students to strive towards achieving personal goals and to contribute to the wider community.

Our School seeks to provide excellence in preschool and primary international school education in Bangkok within a caring Christian international school environment and equip young students for an academically and personally fulfilling life.  The School values the importance of language studies for the early years and primary international school education in Bangkok and seeks to promote the development of character in our students.

St. Mark’s is one of the only few Bangkok international schools, offering comprehensive language programs, one of which is Bangkok’s best international school Mandarin program using curriculum from Singapore.  At St. Mark’s International School, Bangkok, Australian and Singaporean international school curriculum are combined at its best, to provide a fully comprehensive and balanced curriculum.   Our standard of education is equivalent to any of Thailand British international schools, American international schools and the standard of IB international schools in Thailand.

Emphasis is also placed in areas of cultural understanding, within the diverse international school students’ background.  Students’ nationalities at St. Mark’s International School, Bangkok include Australian, American, British, German, Israel, Indian, Bangladesh, Burmese, Singaporean, Malaysian, the Philippines and Thais.

St. Mark’s is one of Thailand international schools which firmly commit to providing the best possible international school learning environment.   Our students are encouraged to develop a life-long love for learning.  St. Mark’s International School Thailand, assists our students to develop confidence, resilience and self-esteem in an environment which encourages respect for the individual, together with tolerance and understanding of others.

An excellent education is the best gift we can give our young people today.  We warmly invite you to see what St. Mark’s International School, Bangkok has to offer your child.

The following is a letter of appreciation from St. Mark’s school parent:

Dear Staff of St. Mark’s International School,

This following story would make the letter quite long, but let me tell a story about Prim. She was born 5 years ago with an obstetric complication called “intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR)” without a known cause. Her birth weight was only 2150 grams at term. This made me feel Prim was fragile since the very beginning so she was quite overprotected. In her early years of life, Prim was very dependent and fearful. She was always been easily frightened, especially by a boy or a bigger kid who made loud noise and fast movement. She mostly lived her life by clinging onto mommy’s or grandma’s chest like a baby monkey.

Therefore, by the time I had to think about an early year education for her, I was quite worried. At that time, Prim’s dad and I had visited many international schools to see the early year program but we felt no school fit our little girl until I came to St. Mark’s International School. After the school visit, I knew this is the exact place for our daughter because I could feel the warm atmosphere as a first impression. I need nothing much more than our daughter’s happiness.

When Prim started in Pre-Kindergarten, she cried every morning but somehow it was better than what I imagined. And it was very surprised that she developed her language skills very quickly. By three months, she started to speak separated words in English. Her social skills developed gradually too. By the end of sixth month, her fear of big kids and boys almost totally disappeared.

At the end of the year, her language skills and social skills developed markedly, she could talk in English. She learned to play and shared things with her friends. It was wonderful.

When she moved to Kindergarten, she could adjust well with the new class. I saw a lot of progress in her skills in many aspects including language; both English and Thai, mathematics and art. It is obviously that the school’s curriculum helps her cognitive thinking process develop significantly.

And when she was in Pre-Prep, the development progress kept going on more and more. I have seen quite a complex mathematic skill for her age, also the reading and writing skill. Now she can write many words (with fun, she writes because she loves to, not because she is forced to do) and she can read easy books by herself now.

I could completely state that all the development that occurred to Prim is the accomplishment of St. Mark’s International School. What the School has given to my little daughter is beyond my expectation. No exact word is enough to express my thought; I think you understand how I feel.

By the end of this letter, I would like to thank the Management for the strong vision and mission in education task. I have intended to recommend friends and patients who are considering international education for their children to visit your school because I feel very happy to see the school growth. I would like to thank Mrs. Kathy, Prim’s fist teacher, for teaching her to know the second language with a very good foundation, and for supporting and encouraging her to establish her social function. You are the first person outside family that Prim really trusts. I would like to thank Mrs. Bente for the excellent teaching of my little girl, both the education and morals. Prim learned the true meaning of the word “discipline” and a lot others from you (and so did her parents as well!). You take a very good care of every student in your class and even when they grow up and move to the next class, you still keep and eye on them.  I would like to thank Mrs. Donna for the great work on continuation of development of the existing knowledge and skills and initiation of new ones. It is amazing to see that one day my little daughter can read and write. Thank you so much for the tender, loving care you have given to Prim. You took care of her like taking care of your own daughter. This impresses me so much.  I would like to thank Miss Nora, Miss Elmer, Miss Karen, Mrs. Por for the gentle care of Prim while she was in your class. All of you are so kind.
